Caviahue Ski Resort in Argentina
Located in Neuquén, Caviahue Ski Center is found 1600 meters above sea level, at the top of Copahue Volcano. From the center you can see the beautiful landscape below and the villa at the bottom of the volcano, a place visited by tourists who want to enjoy the snow and the thermal water found there at the complex.
The Ski Center is inside the Provincial Copahue Park, so all the tracks are surrounded by trees, some of them are millenary specimens that are on the verge of disappearing forever.
There are eight tracks available for expert skiers and for those who are just getting to know the sport. There is also a Ski School so children from age four can learn how to ski and to get familiar with snow; the school also gives technical information about equipment and new disciplines to those who have been skiing for a while.
Amongst the activities you can practice in Caviahue you find Nordic ski, sledge rides, excursions to Copahue Volcano and thermal water at the center, adventure ski and rides in special snow vehicles.
The 14km of skiable ground feature a maximum altitude of 1640 meters above sea level and a skiable longitude of five kilometers, with slopes that go from 5º to 35º in different places.
The center also features a hotel, hostel houses and cabins with capacity for 500 people. There is a refuge, candy store, shopping, nursery, equipment rental and first aid center.
