Fly fishing in Argentina

Fly fishing is a popular activity nowadays, which adds members to its ranks each season. Argentina has over 3500 kilometers of coast in the Atlantic, dozens of lagoons and important rivers in its territory, where you can go and practice three ways of fishing: fly fishing, spinning and trolling.

It is a non-competitive sport, in which who gets the more fish out of the water is not the objective. The purpose is to enjoy the surroundings, encounter peace, find the best specimen and send it back to its habitat in the best possible conditions.

In Argentina, where it is possible to find all climates, you can find different types of fish, such as goldfish, small sharks, tararira, surubí, manguruyú, and the more common but equally popular: rainbow and brown trout, amongst many others.

Fishing season is divided in two between the year: from March to May, and from August to November. The cold in winter and the rain in spring force the activities to stop between May and August, but you can travel to these places and practice fly fishing during the rest of the year.
