The Mountain ranges of the Center are characterized to display ample zones lifted in some sectors, whereas in other plains composed by mountain ranges and plains. As its name says it, this region is compound in its majority by mountain ranges, that are cleared mountainous blocks at the top. These as well conform the Pampas that are grouped constituting cords, that give to origin to valleys and handbags. This geographic configuration, accompanied by diverse rivers and streams (in its majority apt to practice swimming) allows a tempered climate on this zone, which added to the beautiful landscape, turns the Mountain Ranges of the Center into a pleasant place of rest. This region limits the north with the province of Catamarca and Santiago del Estero, where is the Region of Great Salt mines (at the moment one of the greater salars of the world); to the west with San Luis and La Rioja, to the east with Santa Fe, the south-east with Buenos Aires and the south with Pampas. In this zone is the more important population establishment after Buenos Aires. Between its cities is Cordova and Villa Carlos Paz. Both characterized for being center of great tourist attractive by its captivating nature, jesuíticas stays and the jesuítica apple of the city of Cordova, (declared Patrimony of the Humanity by UNESCO), besides its captivating nocturnal life. The Mountain ranges of the Center also count on the National Park Quebrada del Condorito and Sierra de las Quijadas. First located in Cordova, whereas the second in San Luis. Without a doubt two points that cannot be ignored for the presence of geological and paleontological formations registered. Their main cities are Cordova La Falda, Cosquín, Villa Carlos Paz La Cumbre y Merlo. Nevertheless, diverse little towns seated in the border of rivers and streams capture beautiful landscapes. This region allows the practice of venture sports, such as: trekking, hang-glider, observation of flora and fauna, cavalcades, fish sport, nautical swimming and activities.
