San Luis was founded in 1594 as a royal stop between Santiago de Chile and Argentina. Today, it is a place where you can see all the Spanish and European history in its constructions and narrow streets, typical of that culture.
The city is located in the Sierras Grandes, a grographical spot known as Punta de Venados (Deer’s Peak), therefore the people who live in the area are known as “puntanos”.
It is also a city of history, which you can see in museums and in every step you take in its streets and avenues. The Plaza Independencia, the Cathedral, and old City Council Office and the Santo Domingo Convent are all places you can see a bit of history, of the city and the country, which adorn a quiet and traditional place in Argentina.
Thanks to its hotel infrastructure, important restaurants and geographic attractions, San Luis and its surroundings are places where you can enbark in all sorts of activities. Resting by the river or swimming in it, going into the woods for a walk or an ecological excursion, in this area there is something for every person who visits it.

San Luis: the city has an undeniable colonial air to it, where constructions from that era stand next to modern buildings, both of which invite tourists to go in them and walk around them, getting to know their past, present and future.
Nearby the city there are other tourism attractions of great importance, such as the Sierra de las Quijadas National Park. With over 150 thousand hectares, the park includes geographic formations of a characteristic reddish tone, shaped by thousands of years of being touched by wind and water.
Other interesting destinations are El Volcan Villa, a small town that is crossed by a river; Trapiche, another tourism villa; La Florida, Villa de la Quebrada, San Francisco, Nogolí, Los Nogales and others.
