History and culture

Right next to the Parana River, Rosario is known as one of the most important cities in Argentina. Created as part of a royal donation, it was settled next to a chapel built in honor of Nuestra Senora del Rosario, and today it features important historical and cultural places with wide avenues and parks.

Just like any other important city, Rosario has first-quality tourism infrastructure, with hotels and restaurants that show you the best of the area, using fresh products for its delicious dishes and keeping traditions alive at all times.

There are also places for fun, such as discos and a casino, but also places to see more of the cultural aspect of the place, like museums and public buildings.

Attractions

Just like any other big city, Rosario offers a variety of places to visit. Amongst them, there is the Acuarium, which depends on the Hidrobiology Research Institute, where you can see different species from the Parana River and its surroundings. You can also see animals in the city zoo.

In downtown Rosario you can visit, with your photo camera near, typical neighborhoods or barrios, which show classic architechture and a nice environment that makes you think of better times and past years. There, you canÂ’t miss visiting the barrios Inglés, Alberdi, Saladillo, Fisherton and Arroyito.

When it comes to history, museums are the best places to go. In Rosario there are different types of museums, such as the Odontological Museum, the Parana and Islands Museum, the Morphological Science Museum, the Fine Arts Museum and many other smaller ones.

Rosario also features several parks in the middle of the city and in its surroundings, green places that fill the area of clean air. Amongst the many parks to visit, you should see the following: Parque Francés, Parque Regional Sur, Parque Urquiza, Parque de los Constituyentes, Parque del Mercado, Parque de la Independencia and Parque de España.

By land, from Santa Fe, through the RN 9. From Buenos Aires, there are daily buses and flights to Santa Fe.
