Mendoza and Cuyo

This region characterizes by the predomination of mountainous reliefs and little vegetation. Its climate is rather desert in its varieties of high mountain, mountain ranges and field. Nevertheless, its proximity to the mountain range of The Andes provides diverse rivers that cross the territories of Cuyo, that allows the water supply to the different cities that conform this region, give life to diverse thermal sources and to the main vinícola production of South America. This zone, composed by the cities of Mendoza, San Rafael, San Juan and San Luis, limits the north with the region the northwest (composed by Cachi, Cafayate, Jujuy, La Rioja, Purmamarca, Salta, Tafí of the Valley, Tilcara and Tucumán), to the east with the Pampan Mountain ranges, to the south with the Patagonia and the west with the Mountain Range of The Andes. The presence of high mountains, like the Aconcagua Hill that reaches 6,959 meters (recognized like highest of the Western Hemishpere), is ideal to practice mountain climbing and trekking; while the high summits with permanent snows allow the operation of diverse centers of ski. Cuyo offers diverse landscapes and panoramas for everyone that wishes to visit it. The Valley of the Moon, located in the Park Nacional Ischigualasto lodges geologic forms and rest of fossils of dinosaurios. Between its wonders is the Bridge of the Inca, declared Natural Monument, located in the Mountain Range of the Andes (located at 2,720 meters on the level of the sea). The action of mineral water forged the creation of this natural bridge that is suspended to 27 meters on the river The Caves and that own about 48 meters in length, 28 of width and 8 of thickness.
