Salta, the province, is located in the northwest of Argentina, limiting with the south of Bolivia, the east of Chile and the west side of Paraguay. It?s a place that combines great mountain chains with extense valleys, a mixture of color and landscapes that are unique.
In Salta there are still several traditions alive from colonial times, and even before that time, which are visible in the architechture of the main cities of the province and in the traditional festivities that take place throughout the year.
The province is divided in three cities: Cachi, Cafayate and Salta. In them, touristic attractions are varied and include the Cachalaquies Valleys, several national parks such as Los Cardones, El Rey (The King) and Baritú; as well as small towns such as Iruya, San Lorenzo and General Mosconi.
- Attractions
The three cities that form the Salta province have many natural attractions, all of incalculable beauty. In Salta itself you can travel in the ?Train to the clouds?, from where you can really see all the beauty of the province, from three thousand meters of altitude.
Cachi, another city, offers big mountains and beautiful valleys, where colors create new shadows everyday. There, you can visit the Valle Encantado (Charmed Valley), where the wind has created new and original shapes in the rocks.
Finally, in Cafayate, you can take trips through the city in what is now called historical tourism, as well as archeological tourism. These tours take you to museums and former aborigin settlements in the area. In Cafayate you can be a part of the most important festivity that takes place in the northern part of the country, where artists come together and goods are exchanged.

- Cómo llegar
There are buses leaving from Buenos Aires to Salta, everyday. By car, you take the RN68.
By air, there are flights leaving from Buenos Aires and from the nearby countries.
