HotelsRight next to snowy Cachi, you can find the town of the same name, with green landscapes and a vista to the past, filled with adobe houses and stone streets. It is a small town of impressive beauty, surrounded by mountains of almost seven thousand meters of altitude, framing its gorgeous horizon.
Cachi is a simple town, where you can take nice walks and visit places like Valle Encantado (Charmed Valley), a place touched by the power of wind. There, you can see rustic paintings in over a dozen caves created by eolic erosion, as well as rocky formations of different sizes. It is also the ideal place to go and see condors.
In Cashi you can visit a valley surrounded by three rivers, such as Cachi, Las Arcas and Las Trancas, where you can get a wonderful view of all the flora and fauna of the area. It is recommended to visit the archeological museum, the cemetery and the town’s parish, buildings that are witnesses of the place’s history and how the time has touched the northwest of Argentina.

You can visit Valle Encantado, with its beautiful and strange rocky formation, as well as the caves created by the action of the wind over thousand and thousand of years. In the town itself you can see the parish, the cemetery and the archeological museum.
In Cachi, there is a big fair where artisans display their craftwork for visitors and for other artisans that visit the city. They use materials found in the surroundings of their home to create utensiles and figurines.
Nearby Cachi you can visit other touristic spots, such as Cuesta del Obispo (Bishop’s Road), which ends at about three thousand meters of altitude in a place called Piedra de Molino. Three kilometers to the south of the city you can find the Paya ruins, where there are still vestiges of pre-hispanic settlements in the area, such as houses, cemeteries and constructions.
In the Calchaquies Valleys, in the middle of where Cachi is located, there are excursions of scientific interest that take you to all the places previously described with the help of a specialized guide.

From Salta, RN 68, RP 33 y RN 40.
From Buenos Aires, there are daily departures of buses to Salta.
You can also get there by air, to Salta, and then travel the rest of the way (157 Kms.) by land. 70% of the roads have not been pavimented yet.
